On 4th
March 2022, the orientation program for 15th batch NSS Volunteers
was inaugurated by our honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Mohan. The Vice
chancellor, the Principal, District NSS Program officer, Dept of chemical Engg.
(PTU), NSS program officers, staff members and all the first year B.Tech students were present
for the orientation programme. During his inaugural address Vice Chancellor
recalled his college days & the best volunteer award which he received
during his graduation. He mentioned that NSS is one of the best platforms to
develop once personality & to learn how to help & do service to
humanity. We will also learn how to serve during calamities. Vice Chancellor
also emphasized that the NSS unit must adopt a Village and do the best service
to bring up the Village in a year.
NSS district coordinator Dr. V. Lakshmanapathi
in his speech, he told that NSS teaches us adaptability for community living,
they appreciated the services rendered by the unit of PKIET in the past years.
The HOD of chemical engineering Dr. R. Sridhar
also address the gathering and guided the students to become good volunteers of
NSS.
The best district level NSS volunteer Fedric
Rozario of final year ECE also awarded in this function.
After that, National Green Crops – ECO club was
also inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor. Dr. R. Sridarane, coordinator of ECO club,
Dept of Chemistry has taken initiation to inaugurate the club.
Finally, the NSS program officer Dr. J. Udayakumar, proposed the vote of thanks.
