Department of Physics

The growth of physics has brought not only fundamental changes in ideas but also, through technology, a transformation of society. Physics is considered both a body of knowledge and the practice that makes and transmits it. The department focuses on the leading-edge areas of physics research, its importance both in its own contribution to scientific knowledge and to underpinning other areas of science and application.
